Orchids.

The other day whilst driving, I happened to catch the tail end of a show on 702 called ‘A word on Gardening’ (snore!), but after hearing a granny wax lyrical about a white rash that her azalea developed someone phoned in and asked about orchids. This peeked my interest as I (like so many others) just love orchids, but alack alas, after having had 3 orchids die under my supervision I promptly gave up on my ‘window-sill of orchids’ dream…
However, (and here’s the good part) the gardener expert guy advised that you should plant your orchid in a glass pot with glass pebbles between the soil.
Why you ask?
Because the roots photosynthesize and therefore need light to live!
I’m very excited about this little tidbit and will be purchasing lucky number 4 this weekend- yay!
